About the artistic projects

2020–2021 edition

The musical group Ensemble Caprice presents Don Quichotte chez la Duchesse… à Terrebonne!, a contemporary version of the comic opera presented at Île-des-Moulins with the collaboration of residents who have taken part in Les Jardins Chorégraphiques’ theatre and dance workshops.

The artist duo of Sandrine Côté and Tanha Gomes presents Une pensée pour toi, an artistic installation project in the form of sound-emitting lanterns consisting of photographs and audio excerpts. The work is the result of a creative exchange between a group of young people and seniors from Longueuil.

The performing arts organization Le Pictographe presents its Au fil de l’esquisse project, a story in images drawn by teenagers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM. The printed group fresco is installed along an immersive path inviting viewers to wander through the story.

Théâtre I.N.K. presents its creation Duos en vitrines, inspired by the many people forced to visit their loved ones through Plexiglas and other transparent materials. The lack of proximity that these obstacles create is the starting point for this project, featuring lovers in different locations in Laval and Longueuil.

2019–2020 edition

The Montreal collective Berceurs du temps presents Au fil du temps, a participatory installation that uses cyanotype, a photographic process where images are exposed through sunlight. Artist and cultural mediator Tanha Gomes guides participants from Laval as they share their thoughts on the future of their communities.

Artist Julien Boisvert presents Moi j’ai un ami blanc!, an awareness campaign about stereotypes associated with old stock Quebecers, with the help of students from the Parc-Extension neighbourhood of Montréal and Saint-Polycarpe (MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges).

Artist Marie-Denise Douyon presents Du proverbe à la création : l’art sur l’feu, an installation project inspired by proverbs from a variety of sources. The project also includes the production of a short documentary describing the creative process and the artistic contribution of participants from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM.
